Sindhi Chicken Biryani
Sindhi Biryani is mixed spice rice with chicken meat and potatoes. It is a spicy Pakistani Cusine which you can serve in the Main meal. This rice dish is very popular in Pakistan and it is made mostly in Sindh and Punjab. Its spicy so its served with salad and raita
Ingredients
- Chicken 1/2 kg
- Potatoes 1/2 kg
- Tomatoes (medium) 8
- Yogurt 250 grams
- Green chilies 5 (whole)
- Mint leaves 1/4 bunches
- Lemons 2 (sliced)
- Dried plums 6-8
- Ginger/garlic paste 2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder 2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Saffron 1/2 teaspoon
- Hot spices 1 tablespoon
- Screw pine (kewra) few drops
- Bay leaf 1
- Salt to taste
- Oil as required
Cooking Directions
- Peel potatoes, cut into quarters.
- Soak saffron into kewra.
- Boil rice with salt, whole hot spices and bay leaves.
- Heat oil and add sliced tomatoes.
- Wait for the tomatoes to become tender and then add red chilies, ginger/garlic paste, turmeric, and salt.
- Add yogurt, chicken, and potatoes when oil comes to the surface.
- Add green chilies, dried plums, mint leaves, and two lemon slices and tomatoes slices to the chicken.
- Put oil in a separate pot and put little oil in it.
- Put a layer of rice, then of chicken masala and a layer of rice again in the last.
- Sprinkle saffron and kewra mix on top and let it steam for 10 minutes on low heat.
- Serve the delicious biryani with salad and raita.
