Chana Pulao (Chickpeas with Rice)-Chana Chawal Recipe
Chana Pulao is one of the most cooked rice recipes in Pakistan. You can serve Chana Pulao with raita . Chana Pulao can be prepared for lunch and dinner however chana pulao or chana curry with rice is consumed as breakfast in many places in Pakistan
Ingredients
Chana (Chickpeas) 200 Gram
Rice Two cups(1/2 kg)
Black Paper 1/2 spoon
Salt to taste
Green chilies (two small)
Onions 2 medium
3 Whole cloves
cinnamon sticks two
cumin seeds one tsp
Dry coriander (one spoon crushed)
Fresh coriander
Tomato one large
Garlic and ginger paste
Oil / Ghee
Cooking Instructions
Boil the chana/chickpeas
Soak the rice for a half-hour.
Slice the onions and Fry in oil until their color is turned to golden
Mix little water
Now add Garlic and ginger paste
Now add whole cloves and cinnamon sticks
Now add sliced Tomatoes
Add Black Paper, salt and cumin seeds, Dry and fresh coriander and cook until all the spices and masala is mixed
Now add boiled chan/chickpeas
Now add three and a half cup water and boil
Now add rice and cook on medium heat.
Once the rice is getting dry then turn the heat to low and add green chilies and close the lid.
Cook for another five minutes until the rice is ready.
