Chicken Manchurian (Chinese Cusine)

Chicken Manchurian is a Chinese dish but it is so famous that this Chinese cuisine is made almost around the globe. Chicken Manchurian is usually served with rice but it can also be served with bread or roti for lunch and dinner.

Ingredients to prepare Chicken Manchurian :

1. Chicken Boneless 250gms.

(Cut in cubes)

2. Spring onions (2 medium)

3. Green Chilies (3 medium)

4. Beaten egg (1)

5. Corn flour( 5-6 tbsp)

6. Salt (to taste)

7. Black Pepper (to taste)

8. Vinegar (1 tbsp)

9. Soy Sauce (1 tbsp)

10. Oil to fry

For Chicken Manchurian Sauce:

1. Chili Sauce( 3 tbsp)

2. Soy Sauce (1 tbsp)

3. Tomato Ketchup (5 bowl or large spoons)

4. Chicken Stock(2 cups)

5. Ginger Garlic paste or powder (1 tbsp)

6. Salt (to taste)

7. Pepper (to taste)

8.Sugar( 1/4 tsp)

9.Corn flour 1 tbsp(mixed in water)

Method to prepare Chicken Manchurian :

Marinate the chicken pieces in salt, pepper vinegar, and soy sauce for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Heat the oil in a wok/pan to deep fry the chicken.

In a bowl beat the egg well and take the dry cornflour in another bowl to ready the coating for chicken. Now dip the chicken cubes first in egg then in cornflour and put in the oil one by one and fry till golden brown. Fry all the chicken pieces in this way and drain on a kitchen towel or tissue paper.

Remove all the oil leaving 1 tbsp in the wok/pan to prepare the sauce. Now add ginger garlic paste in oil and sauté for a minute

Add green chilies and fry for a while then add 2 cups of chicken stock and cook for 3-4 minutes. Now add Ketchup, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir well to combine then season to taste

Now add slurry(flour mixed with little water) of cornflour to thicken the gravy. Once it gets thick add fried chicken pieces chopped and spring onions and cook for two minutes to heat the chicken thoroughly. Dish out the chicken Manchurian and garnish with coriander and green chilies.
